Charleston Conscious Connection

Hey Birdie knows that when women gather together, magic unfolds.

The women of Charleston gathered Thursday, May 16 to celebrate the launch of Hey Birdie Charleston. “Conscious Connection” was an event designed to give women a taste of the felt experience of being a part of Hey Birdie.

Nearly 60 women gathered at Stillspace Studio in downtown Charleston to get closer to their souls by participating in round table sessions with 4 of Charleston’s most esteemed healers. The event was a fundraiser to support The Formation Project, a nonprofit in Charleston supporting survivors of sex and human trafficking.

✨ Nora Luce of Critical Ritual led women through a meditation to connect with their bird spirits, exploring what it feels like to fly, perch, or swim. Using feathers from Nora’s collection, women listened for a message from the birds to take with them.

✨ Abigail McClam of Lotus Healing Center prepared a Mayan Cacao Ceremony to share cacao's ancient wisdom and healing properties. Using tuning forks, she led women into their heart spaces.

✨ Liz McNulty of Tensegrity Medicine of Charleston demonstrated what a balanced system feels like when all states of your being are balanced and you have lots of spaciousness for your spirit to shine.

✨Grace Krauser, of Moment of Gracefulness delivered a sacred womb meditation and visualization to set intentions for healing and positive change.

The facilitators graciously shared their wisdom, trust, time, and collaboration. Nora of Critical Ritual said “Erin came into my life and her light has been a connection to the Hey Birdie community. I feel her passion, which has given me full confidence and excitement for the new Charleston chapter. I admire Jess and Heather’s integrity and value system of connection, trust, and sisterhood that is authentically sprinkled with layers of play and doses of weirdness.”

Jess, Heather, and Erin Miller (Hey Birdie Charleston Mama Bird) led the circle of women through circle creating, intention sharing, poetry reading, and signature Hey Birdie rituals such as the “Pour and Praise.”

Charleston women also had the chance to book private sessions with our healers during the Afternoon Delight sessions. Women experienced plant spirit readings, tantric reiki, vibroacoustic therapy sound beds, and aura photography.

Charleston is no stranger to Hey Birdie. Our Beta Flight Club launched in January for a 6-month flight; nearly all have renewed for another 12 months together.

Charleston Beta Bird Whitney Cwirka said “Hey Birdie can’t simply be described, it must be experienced. It’s transformative, inspiring you to connect with yourself and other women in a deeper, more meaningful, and nonjudgmental way. It’s unlike any other women’s group I’ve ever joined. And the women who lead it have put so much thought and care into the experience that you feel safe in your container of women and look forward to each new connection opportunity and monthly experience.”

Charleston Women, your next chance to fly with us is in June, with two Flight Club Launches. You can join the Third Tuesday group, which begins 6/18 and meets the third Tuesday of each month from 6-8p, OR the Third Wednesday group, which begins 6/19 and meets on the third Wednesday of each month from 6-8p.
